Mixing business with pleasure as entrepreneurs meet the bankers at the pub
BUDDING entrepreneurs pitched their ideas over pints at a Sowerby Bridge pub.
Bankers from HSBC and accountants from B.M. Howarth, King Cross, Halifax, came to The Works in Hollins Mill Lane to offer advice to people considering self employment.
Licensee Sara-Jo Cooper, who arranged the event, said: "Most of the best business ideas come out of a pint with your mates, and this was about discussing it with someone who can make it happen in the same environment.
"It went really well – we had a lot of interest. All the bankers were busy talking to people all night and there were a few good ideas to come out of the evening.
"We are in the middle of a recession and for me it was about trying to do something positive. If just one person sets up a business from the night and goes on to employ five people in a few years time then it has been worth it."
