Motorists urged to have their say on parking

DRIVERS across the district are being urged to have their say on parking.

A team from Calderdale Council's networks department has been touring the area inviting people to debate parking charges, spaces and other issues.

It will issue questionnaires and says it will use the responses to help form parking policy for the future.

Nigel Pickles, networks manager for the council, said: "We want people to tell us what they think. Is it easier to park in Hebden Bridge or Halifax, for example? Is there enough parking for people with disabilities?"

The questionnaire covers what kind of parking people usually use, why they need to park, how easy they find it to park and to rate the quality of parking in the district.

It also asks if people think parking enforcement officers visit different kinds of parking areas enough and how the council should spend parking income.
