Pupils battle it out in mini-Olympics
BUDDING athletes from five schools competed in a mini Olympic games.
More than 200 year five and six sporting stars from Parkinson Lane Community Primary School, Beech Hill Junior and Infant's, St Augustine's, Ling Bob and Savile Park Primary were put through their paces at Spring Hall, Halifax, during the athletics festival.
The contest, organised by the Calderdale Athletics Development Programme, aimed to spot young talent, boost grass-roots sport and bring schools together for a competition.
Everyone who took part received medals and a tee-shirt and winners Parkinson Lane were presented with a trophy.
