Pupils looked at things with Spanish eyes
A PAIR of jet-setting students sampled Spanish culture as part of a school exchange project.
North Halifax Grammar School pupils Jacob Hayes, 16, and Holly Ackroyd, 17, travelled to Galicia in Spain for a project involving activities on the environment and healthy lifestyles
The students stayed with host families from the partner school in Ferrol, Galicia, and immersed themselves in the Spanish culture.
They spent time in lessons, tasted the Spanish cuisine, swapped recipes and also managed some sightseeing.
Teacher Charlotte Morgan, who travelled with them along with fellow teacher Gavin Walker, said: "Having to live with a family was really interesting for them and they really benefited from it.
"This project allows students to learn about other cultures and they gain in their confidence and their communication skills.
"It lets them find out about things that they possibly wouldn't if they were just on holiday there. They really enjoyed it."
