Remembering fallen soldiers
Elland and District branch of British Legion met at Elland WMC. All the names of those killed in Afghanistan this last month were included in the evocation.
Poppy Organiser Fred Williams said local people had given 15,594. Social secretary Janet Whitaker reported that 20 members are going to see Beauty and the Beast at the Victoria Theatre. She also reminded members of the branch dinner on Friday April 23.
There was one new member, Robert Scott, who had returned from Afghanistan the previous day.
