School league tables: We're the best in the county... and Greetland are top in Calderdale
CALDERDALE primary schools are the best in West Yorkshire when it comes to tests for 11-year-olds in English, maths and science.
But for the first time, not a single local school managed to achieve 100 per cent in all three subjects.
Topping the league in the tests taken this summer was Greetland Primary School with 298. Every child achieved the expected standard of Level 4 in English and science, and 98 per cent achieved that level in science.

Head teacher Amanda Bennett said she was pleased that the school was continuing to improve.
"We introduced a new creative curriculum last year to ensure the children cover a range of subjects that really interest them.
"And keeping ahead of current developments has allowed us to maintain our high achievement and attainment scores."
Hard on the heels of Greetland was Colden, Hebden Bridge, with a score of 294 points at Level 4 for the three core subjects, Holy-well Green scored 292 and Carr Green Primary, at Rastrick, 291.
The children who took the tests at Bradshaw Primary, Halifax, achieved 100 per cent in English and maths, and 90 per cent in science.
Bottom of the table this year is Elland Church of England Junior and Infant School with 44 per cent in English and science and 48 per cent in maths.
Last year the school was among the top third of primary schools in Calderdale with 100 per cent in science tests and 92 in English and maths.
The head of the Elland school, Ms Elfreda McGowan, said: "There has been a blip this year but next year's results will definitely be better – we are on an upward trend."
Test results at Mount Pellon Junior and Infant School, Halifax, improved this year from 174 to 196.
But the school, which is in special measures, topped the table for pupil absences with 10.8 per cent, followed by 6.7 per cent at St Augustine's, Halifax, and 5.4 per cent at Pellon, Halifax.
Nationally, the results in the standard attainment tests dipped one point this year with schools achieving an average of 247.
In West Yorkshire, Calderdale schools achieved an average of 255 points (260 last year), Kirklees 246 (247), Leeds 242 (245) Bradford 237 (236) and Wakefield 237 (247).
