School Proms 2009: Ryburn Valley High School Year 11
THERE were boys wearing kilts and girls dolled up in wedding dresses during what was students called the best prom of 2009.
More than 180 Year 11 pupils from Ryburn Valley High, Sowerby, kissed goodbye to their school days with a formal dinner, disco and awards ceremony at Elland Cricket Club.

Laura Towler, assistant head of Year 11, said: "It was completely over the top – but in the best way possible.
"We had 200 balloons, smoke machines and some brilliant music. The kids loved it. One girl had two dresses and got changed half way through the evening. It was fantastic if a little bit emotional."
