Shotgun drama: two men in court
TWO men have appeared in court charged with firearms offences.
Paul Anthony James Murphy, 35, from Bridge End, Rastrick, and Sean Raymond Harper, 35, of Whinney Hill Park, Brighouse, were charged with possessing a shotgun at Calderdale Magistrates Court.
Murphy is also accused of possessing a six-inch knife in a public place.
The pair were remanded in custody until Friday, September 12 when they will appear at Bradford Crown Court.
No applications for bail were made.
A third man is due to appear at Calderdale Magistrates Court on Monday charged with posessing a firearm.
The men were arrested after police were called to a disturbance at The Royal Oak at Lower Edge Road, Elland, on Thursday night, after reports of three men brandishing a sawn-off shotgun.
Armed police tailed a Land Rover and stopped it outside the Black Swan, Briggate, Brighouse.
