Sixth-form band Ten Floors miss out on top 40 slot

A young Calderdale band has failed to make the pop charts.

Ten Floors, a sixth-form band from Rastrick High School, was dreaming of being in the top 40 with The Apple Tree.

The download-only single was released last week and the band was hoping 4,000 downloads would have made the top 40.

But band spokesman Jack Nicholson said: "Unfortunately, Ten Floors didn't chart this time around.

"All is good though and the effort hasn't been in vain – Ten Floors have a lot more fans now and a lot more experience under their belt."

The band consists of Josh Carruthers, brothers Ste Brown, Jake Brown and Adi Bell. They are all 17 and had a busy promotional tour ahead of the release which costs 79p to download.
