Talks on keeping Lloyds Banking Group jobs in Yorkshire
TOP-level talks have taken place in Halifax to push the claim for keeping a strong Lloyds Banking Group presence in the region.
Regional Minister Rosie Winterton, Deputy Regional Minister Jeff Ennis, representatives of Yorkshire Forward, local authority leaders, MPs and business representatives presented the case to Lloyds.
In a joint statement, Ms Winterton, Minister for Yorkshire, and Simon Hill, executive director of business at Yorkshire Forward, said the meetings were positive.
They said: "We have continued to present the case for the group retaining a strong base in the Yorkshire and Humber region.
"We stressed that the Halifax remains a strong brand in our region, with an excellent workforce and skills base."
All sides have agreed to continue discussions and maintain the dialogue now established.
