Terminally-ill musician to hold rock night in aid of Macmillan
A TODMORDEN man will raise the roof - and cash - at a charity rock night.
Les Piszkalo, of Lydgate, hopes to raise more than 1,000 for Macmillan at the fund-raiser at the Trades Club, Hebden Bridge, after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer in July.
The 51-year-old said: "I've seen first hand the good work they do and I know it will be of benefit to people in the future."
The charity funds a team of specialists at Calderdale Royal Hospital, where he goes for weekly treatment.
Mr Piskalo, a drummer, will be performing with five of his former bands - brought together for one night only by bandmate and friend Tony Hallsworth.
Tickets to tomorrow's event (Thursday), which starts at 8.30pm, cost 5 and are available from Mr Hallworth on 07809 407121.
