Thousands of buildings hit by power cut
THOUSANDS of buildings were hit by a power cut today.
Around 3,400 properties in Sowerby Bridge and parts of south Halifax lost electricity at 11.45am because of a fault on the network.
Supplies were restored in phases by diverting electricity supplies from alternative sources. Electricity returned to the final properties at 12.50pm.
Staff from CE Electric UK apologised for the disruption to homes and businesses and said they are continuing to investigate the cause of the fault.
