Travelling isn't just cricket you know
David Nash gave a talk, "It Isn't Just Cricket", to members of Halifax Probus Club. Mr Nash, former president of Halifax Bowling Club dwelt lightly on his visits to test matches in Australia and the Far East, describing instead his experiences travelling in parts of Asia.
His accounts of Lahore, Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai, Lucknow, Calcutta and Colombo showed him to be an entertaining raconteur with the addition of sights of the Elephant Orphanage and some of the fishing boats given by different countries after the tsunami. He was thanked by Norman Tatham and the chairman was Ian Baldwin. Refreshments were served by Enid Akroyd and Jean Bland. The next meeting will be held at 10am on Thursday at Halifax Bowling Club when John Billingsley will speak on "Folk Tales of Calderdale".
