Tribute night in memory of Bobby
FAMILY and friends paid tribute to a popular teenager with a night of music and entertainment.
The evening at Illingworth Liberal Club raised money for research into the rare muscular disease dermatomyositis, which killed 17-year-old Bobby McBride in January.
The club was packed with well wishers and friends of the teenager, plus his mum and dad Anne McCarthy and Mick McBride.
Live bands and singers provided entertainment, with sets from Rewind, Age Gap and Chris Atkinson.
Fund-raising stunts included a chest wax, which raised over 500, a raffle and auction, with prizes contributed by Calderdale businesses and companies. The club committee gave cash raised from the evening's bingo.
The final total was still being counted by organiser Peter Stewart, a friend of Bobby and his family.
