Turning the spotlight on some local legends and myths

John Billingsley spoke to members of Halifax Probus Club on "Folk tales of Calderdale" giving an appraisal of some of the legends of the area.

Some were quite well-known and others were new to members. Mr Billingsley is a writer, lecturer and student of folklore who lives in Hebden Bridge. He was thanked by Graham Rigby. The chairman was Richard Titley. Coffee was served by Enid Akroyd and Jean Bland. The next meeting will be on Thursday at 10am at Halifax Bowling Club, when John Gill will speak about "The Galapagos."
