Two pubs on same Huddersfield road burgled on same night
POLICE are appealing for witnesses to burglaries at two pubs on the same road.
The first burglary was at The Swan, on New Hey Road, Huddersfield between 7.30pm and 11.30pm on November 2.
It is thought the intruders used the roof of the extension to climb into the property. They took a purse, bank card, cheque book, iPod and a game station. A large amount of cash raised for the Air Ambulance charity was also stolen.
Another break-in occured between 10.15pm and 10.30pm on the same night, at the Royal George Public House, on the same road.
Again it is believed the intruders used a rear extension to climb up to a window before gaining access to the property.
It is thought the suspects were disturbed and made away.
PC Lyndsey Nelson at Huddersfield CID said: "There are clear similarities between both of these incidents which have occurred in quite secluded locations. I would urge others in the area to consider the security of their property and report any suspicious activity immediately to the police."
Police have asked for anyone with any information to contact Huddersfield CID on 01484 436556 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
