UNICEF spreads feeding message

HEALTH workers met UNICEF representatives to discuss a scheme aimed at promoting breastfeeding.

The meeting is the first step toward a UNICEF Baby Friendly accreditation.

Calderdale Royal Hospital has already achieved the accreditation and NHS Calder-dale will now go through an assessment to reach the same level.

Gill Harries, acting head of children's and young people's services for NHS Calderdale, said: "Encouraging breastfeeding is an investment in our district's health."
