We're making village garden grow...

Villagers will be feeling anything but contrary when flowers bloom on verges in Norland later this year as part of a school planting scheme.

Bulbs were planted on roadsides by the gardening club at Norland Junior and Infant School after Norland Scarecrow Festival committee enlisted the children's help.

A variety of bulbs were handed over by the committee and the pupils have spent past weeks planting them.

Samantha Dawson, head teacher, said: "Hopefully, we will soon see them appearing around the village."
