Why would anyone want to steal this?

A BANNER advertising this year's Halifax Long March has been stolen.
The 8ft by 3ft orange sign was strung on railings outside Ebenezer Methodist Church, St James Road, Halifax.
It had been donated by Christian Aid and it was the first year a sign had been used to promote the march, now in its 45th year. Chairwoman Bridget Hindley said: "We are really disappointed.
"We ask whoever removed it to return it to us, perhaps leaving it at the YMCA.
"We're eager to get lots of people walking this year so the loss of the banner at such a crucial stage is very frustrating."
In the Long March, people walk or run 13 or 26 miles on a secret route around Calderdale, raising money for Christian Aid.
More than 100 people have already signed up this year.
The deadline for application forms is March 29. Get one from tourist information centres in Calderdale or the YMCA Halifax.
