A woman has had her beloved dreadlocks shaved off for charity.
Sarah Terry, 27, from Todmorden, decided to get her dreads, which she has had for 10 years, cut to raise money for Mencap.
The artist and teacher, who recently worked at Sowerby Bridge High school, said: “I’ve been thinking for a while that I needed to lose my dreads. I thought if people sponsored me it would mean I couldn’t back out.”
Sarah, seen above with haidresser Maddy Donnellan, is pictured right with her new look. She chose Mencap because her best friend’s brother, Robbie Martin, has Down’s syndrome.
Sarah hopes to reach £1,000 and can still be sponsored by visiting http://www.justgiving.com/Sarah-Terry1.
