London showing for Peter’s work

THE atmospheric work of Calderdale artist Peter Brook is to be included in a major exhibition in the Portland Gallery, next to The Ritz, London, in July.

Owner Tom Hewlett said: “I know Peter is especially loved in Yorkshire, where collectors appreciate his understanding depiction of the Pennine way of life.”

He is keen to hear from anyone who may sell or lend Peter’s work for the exhibition.

Mr Brook was a teacher in Rastrick. By 1962 he was a member of the Royal Society of British Artists and became a teacher at Sowerby Bridge Grammar School.

He died three years ago at the age of 81.
