Lorry which got wedged down lane blocked road for three hours in Halifax

A delivery truck caused tailbacks and disruption for drivers on the A646 Burnley Road in Halifax after it got stuck at a junction for three hours.

The driver was coming down from Water Hill Lane in Friendly onto the main road between Halifax and Todmorden at 1.07pm when the back of his vehicle got caught on the Tarmac.

Long queues built up as the stranded vehicle blacked part of the busy Calder Valley route.

Police officers helped divert traffic around the scene until recovery teams managed to move the truck just after 4.20pm.
