SHE has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and to Everest Base Camp, now Lucy Watkins is taking on a new challenge,

The 38-year-old from Friendly will run the Ediinburgh Marathon next month in aid of Help for Heroes.

She says running for such a good cause will give her extra motivation to complete the gruelling 26 mile-run.

“I’ve been running since my three-year-old daughter Isla was born,” she said. “At first I could only do a couple of miles, then four to five miles, then I was doing 10ks and half marathons so I thought I would got for this.” Lucy has previously climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and to Everest Base Camp for the Anthony Nolan Trust

As part of her fund raising, she is holding a games night at Halifax Catholic Club on Saturday from 7.30pm. To sponsor Lucy visit www.justgiving.com/Lucyhelp4heroes.
