Man, 57, assaulted in Wortley

A 57-year-old mansuffered facial and chest injuries following an assault in Wortley.

North West Leeds CID want to speak to anyone who has information about the incident which took place at about 10pm on Benson Gardens on July 24.

It took place after two men approached the home of the victim and then assaulted him when he opened the door.

He suffered facial injuries and a chest injury and was later treated in hospital before being discharged.

Police believe the suspects may have been looking to steal the man’s car from his driveway although nothing was taken in the incident.

The first suspect was described as a white male with an Irish accent and dark hair which was spiky and swept up in the middle. He had a distinctive marking on his left nose near the nostril - a wart that was shaped like a flower.

The second suspect was also white and wearing dark clothing.
