Man attacked in street and robbed of rucksack containing Xbox 360

A MAN was punched in the head and had a computer console stolen from him after being ambushed in the street by robbers.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the robbery in Keighley Road, Ovenden, Halifax, at 8pm last night (Sunday).

The 33-year-old man was walking towards Illingworth when three men attacked him from behind.

He was punched in the head and pushed in the back, knocking him to the ground.

They then grabbed his rucksack which contained an XBox 360 games console and ran off in the direction of Halifax town centre.

The man suffered minor injuries.

Detective Sergeant Chris Wood said: "We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, and anyone who notices a friend or relative has recently acquired an XBox and is acting suspiciously, to contact police."
