A MAN has died after falling from high-rise flats in Halifax.

Christian Lee was pronounced dead at Jumples Court in Mixenden in the early hours of Saturday.

The Courier understands the 18-year-old was at a party at the flats when police officers arrived.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: “Police are investigating following an incident at flats on Jumples Court in Mixenden, Halifax, in which a man was seen to fall from a ledge at around 12.40am on Saturday,

“The man, who was aged 18, was pronounced dead at the scene and inquiries are ongoing into the circumstances.

“Due to there having been police involvement immediately prior to the death, the matter has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.”

Police tape was up at Jumples Court until last night and flowers have been laid at the scene.

A Facebook page has been set up in Christian’s memory.

Tributes posted include “RIP lad. Just seemed that it was yesterday we was at school messing around and having a laugh. You was always smiling.

“Sleep tight son, miss you a lot.”

Another reads: “RIP Chrissy, you were a good lad!”

Scores of tribute messages have also been posted on his Facebook page.

They include: “Still can’t believe it. Gonna miss seeing your cheeky face Chrissy!”

Another reads: “RIP bro, you will be missed by all! Don’t think Mixy’s going to be same without you lad.”

And: “RIP Christian, miss you so much. You will be missed. Shedding tears over you and I hope you are shining over us! Miss and love you lots!”
