Man trapped in tractor accident airlifted to hospital

A contractor working on a school field in Greetland was airlifted to hospital after he became trapped in equipment on his tractor.

Police officers were called to the industrial accident at Greetland Junior and Infants school at 5.30pm yesterday evening.

Paramedics and firefighterse with the help of local residents managed to free the trapped man and was transported to hospital by Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

The school was closed at the time so no pupils were present. The school fields were closed off to pupils and the public overnight.
