Match preview: FC Halifax Town v Mossley
YOU will not hear too many people connected with Town using the word revenge in relation to tomorrow's clash with Mossley at the Shay.
But the memory of the game the sides played at the Manchester side's temporary midweek Ashton United home is still fresh.
And the fact that the Shaymen were denied maximum points four minutes into stoppage time will surely be a motivating factor for Neil Aspin's side.
It was a bizarre evening all round at Hurst Cross, from the rumours that the game had been postponed through to a goal scored from what appeared to be an offside position.
Town were handed the chance to win the game with a couple of minutes remaining, Richard Marshall being awarded a penalty for a little nudge in the area.
He got up to convert and that looked like that - until Mossley bundled home deep into added time.
It was the first of two games Town drew after conceding late goals - the same happened at Wakefield.
But they were back on form last weekend when they defeated Harrogate Railway 3-0 at the Shay.
That was their 10th league win at home in 11 outings - a record second to none in Unibond One North.
And they will fancy their chances of extending it tomorrow afternoon.
Mossley warmed up for the game by scoring five goals in midweek against a Warrington side that has still not completely given up on sneaking into the play off places.
That was their first win since the game with Town - they drew twice in a quickfire double header with Prescot Cables in between.
Tuesday's win was Mossley's fifth at home this season in the league.
They have managed just three on their travels at Harrogate, Garforth and Rossendale - all teams below them in the league.
They did manage a draw at Leigh Genesis, but tomorrow's game is the first on their travels against any of the teams currently occupying one of the top five places.
It would be a major surprise if Town became their biggest scalp of the season.
