Met Office issue warning for ice

As the snow eases off this evening, the Met Office has issued a yellow warning for ice.

The odd snow flurry is possible this evening but otherwise it will be dry and cloudy, say forecasters.

But overnight temperatures will drop and will not reach above zero degrees celsuis. But it is more likely to feel anywhere in the region of minus eight degrees to minus ten degrees celsuis.

The warning is in place until 9am tomorrow morning.

But despite the hazardous conditions today a protest against the government’s ‘bedroom tax’ at Halifax Town Hall will still go ahead.

Organisers are determined to make their point and are encouraging people to attend at 1pm.

Various businesses also continue to trade including Keelham Farm Shop and Richmond K & B Ltd.

Calderdale Council’s highways department has said on twitter that grits and ploughs will continue to clear and treat roads as required.
