Dog and cat owners can get their pets microchipped at an event at Pets at Home, in Halifax, May 31 and June 1.

Stuart Hartley, manager of Pets at Home, in Halifax, said that they want to highlight the benefits, to help owners avoid the heartache of losing a pet, ahead of National Microchipping Month in June.

“Microchipping is a simple, relatively painless and an essential procedure for ensuring the welfare of your pet.”

The chips cost £10 and feature a unique code number that is stored with the owner’s contact details in Petlog - the UK’s largest registration database.
