A MIDWIFE who runs a special clinic at Calderdale Royal Hospital has scooped a top prize at the Royal College of Midwives’ Annual Awards.

Sue Ng won the Members’ Champion award in the glittering ceremony – attended by broadcaster Natasha Kaplinski - at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, London.

She beat 107 other nominees in the category to be crowned winner of the prestigious award.

Mrs Ng, who is semi-retired, runs a specialist maternity acupuncture clinic at CRH for women in Halifax and Huddersfield.

She was nominated by community midwife Jane Steward who praised her “phenomenal drive and enthusiasm for her role”.

She said: “I feel very honoured to serve my local members. I feel very proud of our team.”
