Transport Minister Norman Baker officially opened the £180,000 cycle path which has been created beside the A629 at Elland Wood Bottom.

It provides a alternative to the nearby canal towpath.
According to Calderdale Council the new cycleway forms an essential link in a sustainable travel corridor between Halifax and Elland. It has been paid for from government’s Local Sustainable Transport Fund which aims to tackle congestion.
