VIRGIN Records co-founder and Oscar-winning film producer Nik Powell shared his creative expertise at a talk at Ryburn Valley High School.
Mr Powell founded the record label with Virgin boss Richard Branson in the early 1970s and went on to become a movie mogul by setting up Palace Productions. The company’s credits include the Oscar-winning 1992 picture The Crying Game.
Guests had travelled from as far as Manchester and Sheffield for the lecture and Q&A session.
Hannah Crank, of organisers Creative Calderdale, said: “It was really interesting and quite funny as well.
“The audience really enjoyed it.”
