David Brimblecombe, the man who has been largely responsible for building Halifax’s Broad Street Plaza, is to step down as the group managing director of Leeds-based Gregory Property Group.
He joined the company in 2005 after seven years as MD of KeyLand Developments, the real estate development arm of the Kelda Group.
“External commitments, in particular the chairmanship of the Kelda Pension Scheme is taking so much of my time that I need to make a change. The other critical factor has been the completion of the Broad Street scheme in Halifax, with which I have been closely associated. Now just seems like the right time to move on,” he said.
Mr Brimblecombe will step down at the end of September but remain on the board of Gregory Projects Halifax Limited until December. Several eateries have opened at the Plaza but still to come is the Vue Cinema, the Premier Inn Hotel and car park.
