THE organisers of Calderdale’s first “Farmfest” pop concert are so pleased with the way it went they are planning to organise another next summer.
More than 300 people attended the event at Grange Farm, Wheatley, Halifax, which raised more than £2,000 for the NSPCC.
The concert was a chance for local bands and musicians to showcase their talents and was organised by businesses at the farm.
Matt Smith, of Chocolate Mould Designs UK, said the bands were great and had plenty of support. “Everyone pulled together and had a good time, so we are thinking about making it an annual event,” he said.
Among those taking part were the metal rock band, Beyond the Line, 70s specialists The Weedwackers, members of The Thursday Club, vocalist Laura and guitarist Harriet and rapper “Wes Scaffolder”.
