THESE are the faces of men detectives want to question in relation to town-centre trouble during an English Defence League protest.

Officers have released the photos of 10 men after trawling through CCTV footage from July 9, when 450 EDL supporters and 70 counter-demonstrators descended on Halifax.

All 10 are wanted in connection with public-order offences.

Divisional Commander for Calder-dale, Chief Supt Chris Hardern, said: “We will not stop until we have done all we can to catch those responsible for the disorder and we are doing all we can to bring these people to justice.

“We ask for people to pick up the phone to tell us who they are.”

Police believe they could be living in West or South Yorkshire, Humberside, Derby, Greater Manchester, Lancashire or Warwickshire, or as far a field as West Midlands, Nottingham, Leicester, Merseyside or West Mercia.

Since the disorder, six people have been arrested and dealt with for various public order offences, including possession of an offensive weapon.

Anyone who recognises any of these faces should contact police with the image number, by calling 101 or emailing op.hawkshead@westyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.

People can also text ‘Halifax’ and the image number and details to 07789 200805 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
