THE funeral for a man killed in a car accident will take place on Friday.
Nathan Horsfall died after the Peugeot 106 he was driving crashed in Burnley Road, Luddenden Foot. He had been out buying a birthday present for his girlfriend when the accident happened.
Teenager Luke Smith from Luddenden Foot, who was in the front seat, suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash.
Last night the 18-year-old, who is understood to have a baby son, was still critically ill in hospital.
The funeral for Mr Horsfall, from Sowerby Bridge, will be held at St Mary’s Church in Luddenden at 11.15am, followed by a committal and cremation at Park Wood crematorium in Elland.
Donations can be made in his memory to Help for Heroes or Overgate Hospice care of Lawrence Funeral Service in Bell Hall, Halifax.
Mr Horsfall was a carpet fitter for Russell Flooring of Halifax and a former Calder High School pupil.
His loved ones described him as “gentle, kind and loving” and said he was happy and his life was on the up when he died.
