During the school holidays, children will be able to take bus rides throughout West Yorkshire for just £5 a week.

At the moment children and young adults can buy a reduced price day ticket for just £2 and First is keen to test out a new weekly ticket which will benefit its young customers.

The ticket can be bought on First buses and at travel shops by producing a young person’s photocard.

They can be used until the end of August when children will be returning to school for the new academic year.

First is West Yorkshire’s principal bus operator and operates some 1,000 buses across Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield and the Calderdale Valley (Halifax and Todmorden)

Simon Pearson, First’s revenue and customer services development director, said: “We are keen to offer our young passengers the opportunity to save a few pounds this summer with the offer of cheaper bus travel.

“For just £5 per week, children and young adults aged between 11-16 will be able to broaden their horizons and travel on First buses across the whole of West Yorkshire.”
