A new bar in Halifax which promises to be the first 4D nightclub in the north looks set to create more than 40 jobs in the town.

The Kalinka vodka bar and club will open later this year on the site of the former Bamboogy club in Fountain Street.

Andy Sutton, from owners Leisure Independent Limited, said: “It’s a massive job, we’ve completely gutted the whole building. We’re investing about £250,000 in the project and we’re hoping to create more than 40 jobs.

“It’s going to be a 4D club, which means you’ll be able to taste whatever pictures you see on the walls, such as a chocolate bar or a cocktail.

“We had a look round different towns but we felt Halifax was crying out for something like this. We’re hoping to open a nationwide chain of a dozen of these bars and we wanted Halifax to be the first one.”
