A new weekday bus service will connect the Rosemount Estate, Elland, Clifton and Rastrick with the centre of Brighouse.
Brighouse is the first area of Calderdale to benefit from the new MetroLocal service, which will restore some of the links that were lost when commercial operators withdrew recently.
Service 258 will will make it easier for people to reach shops, leisure and health centres.
The council’s economy and environment spokesman Barry Collins (Lab, Illingworth and Mixenden) said: “In the current economic climate, this new service would not have been possible without our innovative investment.”
The new, low-floor, easy-access vehicle, will allow through travel from Elland to Clifton. Hail and ride will be possible on many parts of the route.
The route includes Tesco and Sainsbury’s supermarkets in Brighouse and the town’s bus station.
The service will start running on August 28.
