Eureka! is set for big changes after appointing a new chairman as it prepares to open its newly revamped £2.9 million gallery.
Former head of Leeds law firm Walker morris Peter Smart was elected to the role on the Board of Trustees’ following a meeting on Monday.
Mr Smart said: “Eureka! is an exciting and successful visitor attraction and an educational charity which brings significant benefits to children and families throughout the UK.
“I am looking forward to being actively involved with its ambitious plans for future development.”
The new Me and My Body gallery is due to open in March 2013.
“We still require about £400K for the new gallery and I’m committed to achieving our fundraising target,” said Mr Smart.
Eureka! Chief Executive Leigh-Anne Stradeski welcomed Mr Smart who replaces David Jackson.

Kirsty Ward, Head of ASDA Money, was also appointed as a trustee.
