A WEBSITE giving more information about crime and justice in each area has been welcomed in West Yorkshire.
The crime and policing comparator website – www.police.uk – offers the chance to compare the county’s performance with other areas of the country.
West Yorkshire Police were one of the first in the country to provide residents with access to online crime figures and details of local convictions.
Chairman of West Yorkshire Police Authority Mark Burns-Williamson said: “We welcome any initiatives which keep the public better informed over crime and justice within their local communities.
“This website will offer a greater transparency and accountability in policing, drawing together information in way which was not previously possible.”
