A NEW learning centre has opened its doors in Halifax.

The Halifax Centre for Learning is now up and running in Gladstone House, Queens Road.

It was officially opened by the Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of Calderdale and 300 people attended.

Classes will be open to adults and children and will include languages, homework clubs, concerts and coffee mornings. The centre will also run film shows, fitness classes and careers fairs.

They also plan to host a food fair for International Women’s Day, events for Holocaust Memorial Day and Refugee Week as well as religious festivals.

The centre was founded by Qamar and Shabnam Khan.

They moved to Halifax from Germany three years ago.
