Night club attack left man with stitches

A man who carried out an unprovoked attack in a Halifax night club has been sentenced.

Daniel Foulds, 22, admitted unlawful wounding after leaving his victim, Tyler Jackson, with 18 stitches in his lip after landing a punch in Liquid, Halifax on September 30.

Mr Jackson, 19 at the time, was enjoying a night out with friends and was making his way off the dance floor when he stopped to chat to someone.

Bradford Crown Court then heard how the next thing Tyler knew he was in the treatment room in the night club. He was later taken to Calderdale Royal Hospotal. Mr Jackson described the punch as having “a great deal of force.”

Foulds was arrested after he admitted to a friend that he caused the injury in the days that followed.

He was given a 12 month community, ordered to do 200 hours unpaid work and pay £500 in compensation.
