This year’s Northowram Scarecrow Festival has got off to a great start with scarecrows galore lining the streets of Northowram, Halifax.

Cruella De Vil to Blues Brothers scarecrows have taken Northowram’s streets as part of a scarecrow trail - with more than 40 to find in total.

Throughout Saturday, Sunday and Monday, there are lots of activites and entertainment to keep everybody busy this bank holiday weekend.

Pubs including the Yew Tree Inn, the Shoulder of Mutton, and the Windmill are offering light refreshments and music entertainment. Blues band Red Star will perform at the Yew Tree, Saturday night.

Northowram community centre will also host its very own Northowram’s Got Talent, Saturday night.

On Monday there will be a three-legged pub run between the village pubs.

Organiser Andy Garrett, landlord of the Yew Tree Inn said: “I hope people get down for some bank holiday family fun - there’s lots to do and see.”
