Pupils of Heathfield School, Ripponden, raised £1,530. 01 for the Sowerby Bridge Disaster Appeal Fund in 1993 by staying quiet for 20 minutes. The appeal was launched after the Bolton Brow disaster in September that year, when a lorry with faulty brakes ran away at Bolton Brow, Sowerby Bridge, and crashed into a house and shop, killing six people.

Pictured here, from the left, are Helen Millington, Alex Pattison, Paul Southworth and Sarah Terry. Their school had strong sporting connections with Bolton Brow Primary School, near the crash site.
