The Actors’ Workshop Youth Theatre gave a production of the bawdy musical romp A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum in September 1996.

The show, with songs by Stephen Sondheim, became the blueprint for comedian Frankie Howerd’s Up Pompeii TV series. Pictured, from the left, are Benjamin Lee, Damian Shalks, Gerard Devney and Wayne Cato.
