A PAIR of jive bunnies have been swinging up a storm in Mytholmroyd by hosting a popular dance class.

‘TC and Joycey B’ - aka Trevor Cowland and Joyce Bagley - are teaching the moves of the 1930s, 40s and 50s in a fun-packed weekly class at Mytholmroyd Community Centre.

Trevor said: “We started teaching the dances we knew about six years ago in the area. We moved to Mytholmroyd this year.

“It’s very good. The class is really popular.”

Trevor said he got swept up in the dancing and culture of the era though performing with his band TC and the Swing Cats.

He said: “I was hooked. I love the whole thing - the clothes, the dress, the music, the cars, everything.”

Trevor said his favourite dance is the Swing Hive.

“It swings. It makes you feel good. You can put as much into it as you like. “The classes are great for fitness. You’re dancing to music that you like and exercising your body.

“It’s great - it’s very uplifting.

“It’s also a greats social scene - a fantastic social scene.”
