Staff from Overgate Hospice are preparing to run the first ever Overgate 10k – dressed as ballerinas.

Ten nurses have already registered to take part wearing tutus to raise much-needed funds for the Elland hospice.

The run will start and finish at Copley Cricket Club at 9.30am on Sunday April 10.

Lauren Ingram, race organiser, said she hoped the challenge would appeal to everyone from professional runners to first timers.

She said: “We have already had massive interest and have a team of 10 nurses from the hospice willing to take part in the challenge dressed as ballerinas. We hope the event will be a massive success like other charity 10ks.”

Registration is £12 and includes a running vest and medal. For more information contact 01422 387121 or email lauren.ingram@overgatehospice.nhs.uk
