BAGUETTES and Brie were on the menu for parents at a tasty information evening at Holy Trinity Primary School in Halifax.

Staff at the Savile Park Road school invited parents in to explain all the ways they teach French to children - such as with visual and audio aids and games.

Liz Whetham, deputy headteacher, said: “We wanted to show some of the exciting resources we have - and there was also the opportunity to have some French food.

“They really enjoyed it. One of the parents said they didn’t thing that there was as much emphasis on modern languages at schools any more so was really pleased that we did, and excited by some of our activites.

“French is really popular with our pupils - they have lessons every week.”
